Information on regional trends and differences, together with trends in the UK nations England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

The passenger transport sector is concentrated in London which accounts for 30% of employment and the South East which accounts for a further 16%.  London has the highest number of employing organisations compared to other regions. 

The highest industry workforce numbers are as follows:

  • Rail –  London, South East and Yorkshire and the Humber
  • Bus and coach –  London, North West and Scotland
  • Taxi and private hire – London, South East and Scotland
  • Water – South East, Scotland and the East of England
  • Aviation – London, South East and the East of England
  • Driver training – South East, North West, West Midlands and Scotland
