Changes within the occupational structures are projected to develop slowly, with further reductions in administrative, clerical and secretarial groups and for elementary occupations (e.g. janitors, reception staff or messengers). The losses in administrative, clerical and secretarial occupations will be compensated by increases for other occupations such as the associate professional and technical and managerial, professional and elementary occupational groups.

Even though a slight overall decline in demand is predicted for the sector, replacement demand (i.e. the need to recruit new entrants to replace people leaving the sector due to retirement and other reasons) will be substantial. It is expected that over 600,000 members of the current workforce will need to be replaced by 2012.

Most replacement demands are for associate professionals and technical occupations as well as for administrative, clerical and secretarial occupations. In other occupations, there will also be significant replacement needs. A total requirement of over 100,000 workers is anticipated for corporate managers, protective service occupations, and administrative occupations over the next decade.
