Skills and training of the film production workforce
In the film production almost half have a graduate qualification, compared to 16% of the UK workforce as a whole.
With over 90% of the film industry working as freelancers there are key training and skill development issues. Freelancers are expected to be skilled which is problematic as skills are largely developed on-the-job.
Skills development opportunities, information on quality of the courses and the cost of training are significant problems for freelancers
