The NHS careers website has extensive information on different jobs in the sector, variously including: roles and responsibilities; special demands; entry requirements; education and training; qualifications; and pay.
The NHS Modernisation Agency has produced a new role library, which provides insight into new roles and job specifications at Trust level, including new roles in the following areas: neonatal, mental health, cardiac, gynaecology, emergency and trauma, surgery, pharmacy and theatre. An overview on the national practitioner programme is also available.
A variety of key roles in the health care sector are identified by Prospects and detailed information is available. Some selected examples include: adult nurse; biomedical scientist; hospital doctor; physiotherapist; and radiographer.
