London

With only 5,220 engineering manufacturing establishments, employing 77,500 people and with less than a 1,000 recognised trainees or apprentices, London is one of the smallest regions for the engineering sector. High percentages of establishments, in comparison to other regions, employ five or more people (64%). There is a continuing trend in the number of establishments decreasing but employment has increased by 1.5% since 1998.
