The Investors in People (IIP) Standard is a widely recognised quality mark of employers’ support for people development.  The latest available data suggests that a smaller percentage of energy and utilities sector employers are recognised against this standard than the all sector average.  Given the earlier evidence of a highly planned approach to training across the energy and utilities sector, it maybe that sector companies have considered using IIP and rejected it as they already have many of the planning tools in place.
