Dry cleaning, laundry and textile servicing
The industry has the following occupational profile:
- over two thirds of the workforce are in elementary occupations, which includes launderers, dry cleaners and pressers
- 10% of the workforce are managers
- other significant groups in the sector include sales/customer care staff, routine operatives (mostly involved in sewing activities) and general clerical staff
Multi-skilling is a key feature of the workforce, with a high proportion of the workforce undertaking both process and customer service roles.
