A Major UK Research Study

11-December-2006

An opportunity for you to participate online! The Centre for Guidance Studies (CeGS) is undertaking research that will mirror the work of the Canadian Research Working Group for Evidence-Based Practice in Careers Work (CRWG).

Deirdre Hughes, Head of the Research and Knowledge Transfer Unit and Director of CeGS, and her team, will apply the principles and models used by the CRWG to gain new insights to policies and practices designed to make a positive impact to careers provision for young people and adults in the UK.

Following consultation with representatives from a range of organisations delivering career guidance interventions, CeGS has launched this online survey to explore the availability and use of evidence linked to the impact of service.

A key feature complementing the online survey will be focus group and one-to-one discussions with up to 50 practitioners and managers from provider organisations, and with professional associations, designed to construct a more robust framework to report on UK careers services performance and impact.

Up to 25 interviews with policy makers across the UK will be carried out and, as part of this process, the findings from the online survey and discussions with provider organisations and professional associations will be examined and reviewed.

This project builds upon CeGS’s established work on impact analysis in careers work. We hope that you will participate and join us in this important national survey.
