>What resources are there in England for adult guidance if you do not fit into the local IAG target categories?
>
I am studying a QCG at UEL and am researching the provision in Scotland and Wales for adults which is universal and free. However in England it is neither! I am researching what resources there are out there that are reputable and free for adults to use without having to travel to Scotland or Wales!
Can anyone recommend good resources that adults can go to either on the web or in books/tapes to do exercises or a questionnaire on "knowing
> yourself better" as this relates to finding what job suits them.

( Noel Jackson, 18-Nov-2005 15:05 ) You might have a look at the following organisations as a starter if you've not already done so. http://www.icg-uk.org, http://www.igengroup.co.uk. There are multiple links from these sites to other organisations, some of which have free psychometric tests for job matching suitability etc. Hope it helps Noel Jackson Centre for Guidance Studies University of Derby |

web-based career guidance sources for adults | Discussion Topic | 0 replies | 17-November-2005 | Lucy Marris |
It's true, it's hard to access free guidance for adults, but there are one or two web-based resources that might be of interest....
I like to use the www.windmillsprogramme.com website for exploration of aims and good practical information on skills identification and marketing yourself effectively. For graduates there is also www.prospects.ac.uk which has great information on a range of occupations, job vacancies and a very basic 'find a job thats right for you' section, which is limited but at least freely available. It would be very interesting to hear what else is out there though so I shall watch this discussion with interest!
