Regional LMI
Why is there no Welsh dimension? I note you have a link to Careers Scotland and could therefore add a link to Careers Wales. Additionally, this information would need to reflect graduate level information across the UK.

1 Regional LMI for Wales

Suggested links to LMI for Wales and the education sector.

Thank you very much for your comment regarding the LMI. The available LMI on the education sector is very limited, particularly the national and regional data. There is a little more information available now, but this is not specific to Wales. Some recent sources I can suggest include:

  • Lifelong Leaning UK SSC has a market assessment which includes UK statistics on the post-16 education and training sector, and details policy reforms for the nations including Wales
  • Future Skills Wales will be producing some sector specific surveys in the near future so this will be a good website to watch
  • Working Futures 2004-2014 reports which may be of interest: first, the spatial report which has data on the Welsh labour market; and second, the sectoral report which has trend data for the Lifelong Learning UK SSC (not Wales specifically).

There is no LMI on the Careers Wales website which is why there is no link, but we do, however, link to Future Skills Wales.

We are developing some regional pages so keep an eye out on the NGRF. We are also currently working with 12 Sector Skills Councils to up-date the LMI on the website – unfortunately education is not on the list, but we really hope to work with the other SSCs in the near future.  We will ensure that you comments are heard!

If we can be of further help please contact us again.
