How helpful and relevant is the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) to you? The TDA are keen to get feedback from careers advisers to help them provide the most appropriate support to you in your professional role. They are seeking feedback from those engaged in guidance practice through this website.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR SCHOOLS CONSULTATION PANELS

The Centre for Guidance Studies (CeGS) with the Institute for Careers Guidance (ICG)  are currently working with the Training and Development Agency for Schools (formally Teacher Training Agency)  to inform their strategy for engaging with careers advisers in England and Wales.

If you are currently working in the field of career guidance, then you are in a strong position to support this research and it would be great if you would get involved.  Your views will be used to support the TDA to develop appropriate and effective practice for supporting you as a careers adviser and your clients.

Use this discussion thread to comment on any or all of the following questions - even better give your perspective on others responses - do they reflect your own experiences, or have you a difference perspective to share?

The key areas for discussion are:

What are the current communication channels between the TDA and organisations/individual practitioners?

Are they effective? How is this demonstrated?

Are you aware of the 'offer' (yes/no)

If not, is there an explanation?

If you are aware of 'the offer', is it clear/useful/easily transferrable to clients?

Are you aware of the training and development agency for schools website? Yes/No

If not, is there an explanation?

If so, is it clear/useful/easily transferrable to clients?

Are you aware of The Teaching information line? Yes/No

Are you aware of The events programme?  Yes/No
