- A new Adult Advancement & Careers Service to be launched 2010 & occasional paper by Deirdre Hughes highlighting some key related issues.
- Counselling Arabia 2009 Conference, ‘Transitions: Evolutions of Client and Practitioner’, will focus on transitions in the field of counselling, from client progression to the development of the practitioner. For more information on the conference to be held in April 2009 go to the website.
- The Skills Commission published Inspiration and Aspiration: Realising our Potential in the 21st Century, which calls for fundamental changes to careers guidance.
- Recent announcements concerning the development of a new adult careers service include a speech to Parliament by John Denham on Welfare and Skills, 26 November 2007 and the publication of Opportunity, Employment and Progression: making skills work DWP/DUIS nov 2007
