Learning from others
It is the aim of this section to:
- Explore what others are doing in practice
- Examine some of the issues facing managers and practitioners
- Review some international perspectives on guidance
Although many of the issues facing practitioners, managers and policy makers are similar whether it is across the UK or internationally, there are important differences, linked to cultural and economic circumstances. It is these similarities and differences that make an an understanding of what others do in guidance so rewarding. Understanding and learning from others can help further our understanding of our own guidance practice.
- As guidance managers and practitioners around the world face increasing pressure to show "value for money", it is important to understand and test the theoretical basis of assessment frameworks. Why not take the health check and think about linking theory and practice. Access four international theoretical models and see how others are measuring gudiance.
