The Employers Forum  (EFA) on Age is an independent network of employers who recognise the need to attract and retain employees whatever their age

Past it at 40   A report of the findings of qualitative research into ageism and discrimination in employment undertaken for Third Age Foundation by SMA Associates.  According to the report summary:

• People in their forties are now ranked alongside much older people as ‘over the hill’
• 30-35% of over-fifties not in employment
• Loss to the economy – up to £31 billion per year
• Looming pension crisis will affect out-of-work over forties disproportionately
