Where do we go from here?
Although the closing date for QDF Projects has passed, IAG in the Workplace in the West of England will continue by consolidating the work with employers so far and continuing to build IAG services in the organisations where agreement has been reached to do this.
Future aims will be to:
- Add to and develop the arguments for involvement with IAG expressed in this report from impact evaluation in July 2003
- Work closely with the proposed employer adviser for basic skills working from the LSC in the West of England
- Build on links established with Business Link West
- Explore the potential for engagement with Public Sector employers beyond Local Authorities and NHS Trusts
- Engage employers in matrix accreditationÂ
- Pursue the links and similarities of IAG, matrix, IiP and basic skills issuesÂ
- Trial, in the workplace, new Management Information requirements for IAG Partnerships
- Progress from August 2003-4 will depend heavily on funding and agreed targets but engaging with 20 - 30 employers in one year seems feasible
A strategy for expanding IAG in the Workplace will be produced in consultation with key strategic partners including:
- Business Link West
- Learning + Skills Council
- Guidance Council
- WEA
- ABSSU
- UNISON
- GMB
- TUC
- NHSU
